What a wonderful place to stay! Susan and Mervyn are excellent hosts, friendly, welcoming and helpful without being intrusive, and the accommodation is even better than it looks in the listing. It is spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the setting is outstanding! We had an incredible stay at the hut, everything was perfectly clean and covid safe, the facilities were second to none and we had the best time with the outdoor cooking on the grill and firepit and of course spending the evening in the hot tub was just dreamy, Susan and Mervyn were so welcoming and helpful and were available to give advice at all times. P.S. don't forget to say hi to the Shetland ponies!

A wonderful setting for a very different kind of break away from it all. Never been very keen on the whole camping thing, but glamping promised something better so wanted to give it a try. Exactly as it says on the website, Lower Woodlands is on the edge of a lovely little village and the shepherd hut is amazing! Starting with the basics, everything was superbly clean and a lot of attention to detail was evident - fresh flowers, tea/coffee and cookies to get us started. We arrived around 7pm to a warm welcome and spent the evening around the firepit, enjoying a glass of wine. When bedtime came, we had to pull the bed down from the wall - which could not have been easier. Everything was made up - just the pillows to get out of the chest. As for sleeping - the bed was wonderfully comfortable. As the morning was sunny and warm, we opted for a cooked breakfast brought to our hut - very tasty food and friendly service. Sue and Mervyn are great hosts; Lower Woodlands is relaxed and peaceful; the shepherd hut is definitely high-spec and delightful to stay in. We'll be back.

The Shepherd's Hut is comfortable and in a beautiful setting near the Somerset Levels. The design, construction, living space, bed and fixtures mean that this is a five-star Shepherd's Hut, a total treat. Sue and Mervyn offer a warm welcome and nothing is too much trouble.

“A beautiful shepherds hut in a perfect quiet location. The hut was immaculate and the finishing touches were beautiful. There are a couple of pubs locally which are only within driving distance. Susan has bikes available which we used to explore the countryside. Susan was very helpful, a lovely lady and couldn’t do enough for us. If you want peace and quiet then this is the perfect place to be. We will be going back.”
